The report
I. The voice
Some voices you recognise in a single bar. London's Ali Love — frontman, songwriter, entertainer — has spent two decades lending his to the records that shaped UK dance music: the Chemical Brothers, Justice, CamelPhat, Róisín Murphy. Always unmistakably himself, whoever's name was on the sleeve.
“One of London's most inventive and unpredictable voices in dance music.”

II. The psychedelic-house era
With Infinity Ink and Hot Natured, Ali helped define an era. “Forward Motion” and the benchmark “Benediction” — written with Jamie Jones and Lee Foss — remain reference points of psychedelic house: club records with a soul singer inside them.
“Rarely less than entertaining.”

III. Confusion
His “Confusion” with Keinemusik became an Essential New Tune for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 — and was covered by Drake, who cites the song as an inspiration. Few artists cross from the underground into that orbit without losing themselves. Ali did it singing.
IV. The arena
In December 2024 he took that voice to the arena: guest vocalist with Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classics, alongside Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra — sixty-five musicians on stage. Two nights at The O2 in London. The OVO Hydro in Glasgow. AO Arena, Manchester. Utilita Arena, Birmingham. The club voice, at symphony scale.

V. Now
Twenty-plus years in — with a catalogue across Crosstown Rebels, Hot Creations, Ed Banger and Keinemusik — the voice remains the thread through the work. Love always wins.
