Privacy
This site has no accounts, no sign-up and no newsletter, and it does not collect your name or e-mail address. Here is everything it does with data.
Visit statistics
- The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not follow you across other sites; only aggregated statistics are kept.
What stays in your browser
- If you switch between the dark and the light display, that choice is kept in your browser’s local storage.
- The small question-and-answer assistant answers from a fixed list inside the page: what you type is not sent anywhere. If you rate an answer, the rating is kept in your browser’s local storage.
- Nothing kept in your browser is sent to this site or to anyone else.
Players from other services
- Some pages embed players from other services: the home page (Apple Music and Spotify), the record shop, I ♥ Records (Apple Music and SoundCloud), and the press kit (Apple Music). Those players load from their own services as they come into view, and those services’ own privacy policies apply to them.
- On Video, YouTube clips load only after you press play, in the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player. Clips whose owner disabled playback on other websites open on YouTube instead.
- The site serves its own typefaces. Only the older design-system sheets under /ds/ load theirs (Fraunces and Space Grotesk) from Google Fonts.
- Links to streaming services, stores, social networks and sources open those sites, under their own policies.
About this site
- Every news item, record and biography paragraph in the archive is published with its date and the source it rests on; each source shows the date it was accessed.
- Records in the archive are drawn as typographic sleeves made for this site, not as their original sleeves.
- Photographs of Ali Love are real live photographs from his press kit, captioned “Ali Love, live · press photo”.
- The painted landscapes of the Ali Love world come from real footage of Ribeirão da Ilha and Ilha do Campeche, in Florianópolis, turned into illustration; the moving footage is credited “Ribeirão da Ilha · Ilha do Campeche — real footage” or, under the site’s painted treatment, “real footage turned illustration”. Other artwork is credited as illustration.
